The church-fortress stands at the intersection of three lanes. The hall church has a slightly laterally retracted choir with a 5/8 apse displaying a Gothic net vault. There are 1419-dated mural paintings on the north wall of the hall church, representing King Ladislaus with his followers and Archangel Michael. There are two defence storeys above the church hall. The uppermost is supported by profiled consoles placed between raised buttresses. The church is surrounded by a 17th century quadrangular enclosing wall with four corner towers and an additional tower in the west. An older gate tower was included in the southern defence wall and it got a Baroque helmet roof in the 18th century. There are monopitched roofs on the inner side of the enclosing wall, under which grain chests used to be stored. The church can be visited in summer from 10 am to 6 pm and in winter only on Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm.

The murals on the north wall of the hall are dated 1419. So the construction of the church may have taken place in the 14th century.
The church is surrounded by a rectangular ring reinforced by five narrow towers, four at the corners and one in the middle of the western side. Southeast of the chancel there is a gate tower, the exterior of which can be dated to the 17th century.
