This village located at the foot of the mountain opens the gates to a fascinating world of history and culture. The first mention of the village in history dates back to 1305, when we learned that it belonged to a Hungarian baron named Apafi. At that time, the villagers were mainly engaged in agriculture. Later, the village was devastated by Ottoman attacks and rebuilt over time. The population of the village was constantly growing until the end of the 20th century, and the predominance was of Saxon population, reaching a considerable number of inhabitants. In the present, however, only about 300 people remained. During the same period, natural gas deposits were discovered around the village, and people began their exploitation, which continues to this day. This is why most villagers now have a job in this field.
