In 1206, Barcut is mentioned for the first time in documents under the name "villa Baramcuth". In 1532, the village described as "Perkütten" is listed as the third largest community in the seat of Cincu. Between the 18th and 19th centuries, the village was destroyed by several fires. Nowadays, Bărcut is also known as a children's camp and offers a wide range of opportunities for cultural and natural experiences, especially for children and young people.
