The village, first mentioned in a document from 1223, has known a varied history. Different languages, peoples and mentalities are part of the village culture. The surrounding mountains belong to the lands of the Hârtibaci Valley. The climate and soil offer ideal conditions for cattle breeding and agriculture. Beech and oak forests - surrounded by pastures with wild grasses blooming in all colours - characterise the landscape around the village. The forests and meadows are rich in mushrooms, herbs and berries.
