Murals

The murals on the north wall of the hall are dated 1419. So the construction of the church may have taken place in the 14th century.

Ring wall

The church is surrounded by a rectangular ring reinforced by five narrow towers, four at the corners and one in the middle of the western side. Southeast of the chancel there is a gate tower, the exterior of which can be dated to the 17th century.

1300-1400 Construction of the church.
1334 First documented mention.
1419 The wall paintings on the north wall of the hall are dated with this date.
1500-1520 The fortification of the church by the construction of two bulwarks above the hall takes place.
1600-1700 According to its appearance, the gate tower can be dated to the 17th century.
1607 A bell inscription read: "M. Paulus Neidei propter utilitatem me fieri fecit An Do 1607 Mense Augusti 21".
1999 This year Dărjiu was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
